About Blindy.TV

Blindy.TV is a charitable project created by blind people that believe that the blind should be able to enjoy the same television programming that entertains and contributes to the shared culture of their sighted family and friends. We contribute freely of our time and resources to provide a free described television programming service to those that are served by neither commercial products nor government programs. The current service provides a few channels of audio-only television programming, in several genres, all with audio description.

Blindy.TV Featured in August AccessWorld

The August issue of AccessWorld, the American Foundation for the Blind's magazine covering technology news for the blind and visually impaired, includes an article about our service.

Of interest to existing Blindy.TV listeners, the article goes in to detail about the reasons why audio description is so rare on television, both in the United States and around the world.

Comedy and Drama Channels Temporarily Offline

Currently, both the Comedy and Drama channels are offline. This outage is due to continued problems we've been experiencing with the system becoming overloaded due to the increasingly high amount of content that has been added in recent months. Unfortunately, due to work schedules, and people not physically being in a position to make the needed correpairs, the channels will remain offline until Friday afternoon.

Content Update: New Shows and Episodes

After a long wait, Blindy.TV has been upgraded with nearly 2,000 hours of new content. While a few new shows have been placed on the schedule, you’ll find many new surprises during our unscheduled times. For people that don’t know, during the parts of the day where shows are not specifically listed on the schedule, we play random shows from our library. Many of our most interesting shows are available in limited quantity, and so only play during these unscheduled times. The ETC channel plays random shows, all day long.
